Olivia Emmanuel

(SHE/HER)

Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying), MACP, BSc

Olivia's expertise lies in working with clients experiencing, trauma, substance misuse/dependence, anger management, clients facing problematic sexualized behaviours, emotional dysregulation, youth, and couples and families. Her work is driven by her passion for creating safe spaces where her clients can explore their lived experiences, identify their strengths and vulnerabilities, and transform themselves in meaningful ways. Olivia strongly believes that mental health supports should be more readily available, accessible, and affordable for people from all walks of life, and this motivates her to destigmatize mental health issues, especially within marginalized communities and BIPOC populations.

Olivia's approach to therapy is rooted in her belief in creating inclusive environments that acknowledge and honor her clients' unique cultural identities, social locations, and lived experiences. She is highly skilled in using a range of evidence-based modalities in her work, including Motivational Interviewing, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Narrative Therapy, Relational Needs Model, Gestalt, Mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Person-Centered Therapy. Her clients appreciate her for her compassionate and empathetic approach, as well as her non-judgmental, flexible, open-minded, and culturally sensitive personality traits.

Olivia draws inspiration from her personal experiences as a person of color, which have made her acutely aware of the importance of creating safe spaces for people to share their pain and struggles. Through her holistic and relational approach to therapy, Olivia aims to create nurturing environments where her clients can connect meaningfully with themselves, others, and the world around them. Her ultimate goal is to help each client she works with to honor and heal the different parts of themselves, leading to greater levels of well-being and personal transformation.
